Easy Manufacturing

Manufacturing in Business Central the way your plant actually works — by weight, by formula, by project — without leaving Business Central.

Production control without the workarounds

Standard Business Central assumes every component is a fixed quantity per piece and every order is a stand-alone job. Many manufacturers do not work like that: quantities follow weight, density or a formula on the item's attributes; a line is cleared between batches; one order yields several products; a treatment step has to be planned from the sales line; and the production order belongs to a project with its own budget. Easy Manufacturing adds exactly those steps inside Business Central, so planners, operators and project leads work from one order, one set of quantities and one set of numbers.

Key features

Everything runs inside Business Central online — no external system, no duplicate administration.

Flushing and line clearing

Buffered consumption posting, clearing worksheets with action types, and job-queue posting of flushed components — built for shop floor and warehouse execution.

Formula-driven BOMs and routings

Replace fixed quantities, scrap and run times with expressions evaluated against the item's attributes and the ordered quantity; include or skip a component or operation by condition.

Weight and measurement model

Density, cross-section and surface-area calculations, number of units, metric and imperial units with 200+ unit aliases, and a weight ledger for stock and KPI figures.

By-products and treatments

Co- and by-product output with actual-cost allocation, and treatment orders created straight from a sales or warehouse line.

Projects linked to production

Versioned project budgets with approval and sync to planning lines, Excel import and export, comments, metadata, timesheets and archive history connected to purchases, sales and the production order.

Planning visibility and tracked stock

See where every order is planned, keep planning status in sync across order, lines and routing, and reclassify lot, package or serial stock with its measurements intact.

Built for

Easy Manufacturing grew up in plants where the piece is not the unit of measure.

Metal, plastics and material processors

Bars, sheets, coils and profiles sold and consumed by weight or cross section, with chemistry, treatments and material versions on the lot.

Formula and recipe manufacturers

Quantities that depend on density, concentration or the attributes of the item being made, with by-products that carry real cost.

Engineer-to-order and project manufacturers

Production orders that belong to a project with a budget, versions, purchases, sales and timesheets that have to reconcile.

What is inside

The app is organised in modules; switch on what you need in Easy Manufacturing Setup.

Planning and execution

  • Flush components and line clearingBuffered consumption, clearing worksheets, reservation and warehouse side effects handled.
  • Split production order componentsSplit component demand into operational lines per lot or bin.
  • Planned at and default locationsPlanning location and capacity resource on every order page; default production and replenishment bins.

Outputs, treatments and subcontracting

  • Additional by-productsBy- and co-product lines at a quantity-per ratio; capacity and material cost allocated across outputs.
  • Production treatmentTreatment orders from sales or warehouse lines via routing templates; convert items to multilevel structures.
  • SubcontractingLegacy subcontracting kept working, with a guided path to Microsoft's subcontracting.

Measurement and units

  • Item measurementsEnhanced units of measure, density, rounding precision, metric and imperial, unit alias dictionary.
  • Weight calculationsCross-section formulas, surface area, tracking weights and an analytical item weight ledger.
  • Number of units and production BOM UOMUnit-aware BOMs, planning and production order components.

Formulas and costing

  • Manufacturing formulasInclude, quantity-per, scrap, setup, run, wait, move, lot size and send-ahead formulas on BOM and routing lines.
  • Routing additional costSplit work- and machine-centre rates into setup and runtime components through to the production order routing line.
  • Planning component dimensionsDimensions on planning components derived from the requisition line.

Projects

  • Project budgetsBudget headers, versions, approval, sync to planning lines, checks, statistics, Excel import and export.
  • Project metadata, comments and archiveElements, activities, stages, task comments and archived budget history.
  • Project purchases, sales, resource groups and timesheetsProject context carried onto documents, resource groups with units of measure, time sheet integration.

Master data and tracked stock

  • Work materials and classificationsMaterial shapes, classification hierarchies, treatments, versions and chemical composition.
  • Attributes and templatesAttribute editors across items, machine and work centres; extended item templates.
  • Item tracking wizard and inventory countingChange lot, package or serial details and count stock while preserving measurements, warehouse and journal consistency.

At a glance

  • Flushing, line clearing, treatments, split components and subcontracting
  • Formula-driven quantities, scrap and times on BOM and routing lines
  • Weight, density, cross-section and number-of-units calculations
  • Metric and imperial units with a data-driven alias dictionary
  • By- and co-products with actual-cost allocation
  • Setup and runtime cost split on work and machine centres
  • Versioned project budgets synced to planning lines, Excel in and out
  • Lot, package and serial reclassification with measurements intact
  • Planning status synced across order, lines and routing

Always current on Business Central online

Our apps are built for Dynamics 365 Business Central online and follow Microsoft's release rhythm. There is no version to pick and nothing to upgrade by hand.

Two major releases a year

Every app is validated against the next Business Central release before Microsoft rolls it out, so the update wave never catches you off guard.

Monthly updates included

Fixes and improvements ship through AppSource and your Business Central admin center, with the same monthly cadence as the platform.

Current and previous release supported

You can stay on the release schedule your organisation prefers; we support the current major version and the one before it.
